Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympic Games – Family and Friends’ reception in Whistler

March 17, 2010

Family and friends of ParalympicsGB alpine ski team athletes were treated to a reception in Whistler this afternoon.

Both Kelly and Claire’s parents were able to attend. The event provided a much needed opportunity for athletes and their families to spend an afternoon together outside of the Games environment. Core sponsors of the British Disabled Ski Team such as Get Kids Going ( and ski racers of past Paralympic Games and possible future Paralympians for Sochi 2014 also made an appearance.

Tim Reddish, chairman of ParalympicsGB and three times Paralympian, spoke, thanking the athletes’ family and friends, those who make sacrifices for their loved ones in order for them to realise their dreams.

The Girls have now competed in their scheduled events and will be enjoying a relaxing St. Patrick’s Day evening with their families.
