Girls proud of their performance at their debut Paralympic games

March 18, 2010

Now that Kelly and Claire have finished competing at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympic games they’re free to relax and enjoy Whistler.

The girls joined the crowds in support of their team mates for the Downhill and Super-G events in Whistler Creekside and had the opportunity to ski with friends and family on the slopes of Whistler and Blackcomb.

Reflecting on their performance, Kelly commented that, “as late as January, the dream of racing with Claire was all over, totally derailed, but now we are in Whistler, classified, two races, in those catsuits under our belts, no DNFs, no DSQs, everything we’ve worked for has been worth it. We’ve worked together everyday since last August to achieve this”.

Claire commented that, “this has been an amazing season, in New Zealand I committed to guiding Kelly this season to her ultimate goal of racing her at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympic Games, it could’ve been a smoother route to get here but we’re here”.
